hello everyone i should have taken a picture but i totally forgot until now..

my LFS has a 200 gal. tank i would like to buy. i spoke to the owner and originally the tank would cost 999.99 its down to 400 cash. because if you can picture..

the long front piece of glass ( 1/2 inch think ) has a chip in it. its about 1/2 way up the tank.. dims of the tank are approx.. ( guessing ) 2 ft wide, 2 ft tall, 6-8 feet long )

so the long front piece has a chip out of it. the chip doesnt hit the caulking in the inside of the tank but the actual glass is pretty thin... also it doesnt hit the side glass. in total the chip is about 2 inches tall and probably 3/4 of the way trough the 1/2 inch glass plate.

i was thinking maybe i could put an additional piece of glass on the inside so that its like a double wall and i thought it would hold.

i was wondering if you all would think that this would hold water. the owner said he wouldnt think it would. and once i fill to that line its able to blow the front glass right off.

Take it to a glass shop and they can fix it for you.

i didnt buy it yet. i was seeing what everyone thought first...

i dont wanna spend 400 on a piece of junk..

i found a 380 gal. in a oak stand with everything included for 1000

go with the 380

If the 380 is new, take that.

There's better deals to be had, but if that would be my choice if faced with those two and nothing else.

Take the 380.

My 180 is damaged like that. I think it would be okay. BUT
The only thing, is that the 180 is in the garage. So if there is a leak its not that big of a deal. I don't think I would ever risk it and bring it in the house, and you shouldn't either.

Even if the 380 is used, I would go with that. You would have alot more tank for your money.
