So my Fahaka chipped one of her teeth and she has trouble eating now, but she manages. Has anyone seen this before? Would you recommend trimming the other tooth? I'm not sure if it would help or just make it so she can't eat at all.

My saba puffer breaks chunks of his/her teeth regularly also. Never as bad as that, but the plates continuously grow so I wouldn't be too concerned about it. I think that mine wears away the uneven side by bitting gravel when it does happen, just a personal theory though.

Do you know what it broke the tooth on BTW?

Just in case you aren't aware MTS snails are too hard shelled to be fed to puffers.

I would leave it, at least she can bite with the longer tooth. I'd also like to know what she chipped it on?

She only eats defrosted shrimp, but was having trouble with the shells getting stuck between the teeth. I agree with YVRDARB and think she must've chipped it on gravel to help remedy the stuck shells. There's nothing else hard enough in the tank.

You really need to vary her diet:

You're right...I can mix in some mussels and clams. Any recommendations on how to serve? On the half shell or just crack them first and let her work through it?

On the halfshell is fine, they scrap their teeth trying to pull the meat out. Snails are the best thing to feed them though
