ok, i got this little guy at about 3 inches long about 4 months ago, he/she is now about 10 inches long, in a 150g tank with a striped and spotted raphael cat, two synodontis eupterus, and a Auchenipterichthys coracoideus, as well as a couple apple snails and a 5 inch crawfish... had a brown african knife with it as well which was great when the same size but as the clown got larger he started to get more aggressive, so that ended...i have some pictures to post, and he/she seems to be growing well, very active and will even eat out of my hand. Guess I am just checking to make sure that I am doing everything right, see if im missing anything, and see how long i have before the 150g isnt large enough anymore.... thanks for any feedback/tips! And if you have any pics of your clown knives, I would absolutely LOVE too see them!!!

He should be fine in there for another couple months, watch your smaller fish though as he grows as they may end up as food. As for your aggression issue you mentioned, knifefish dont usualy tolerate other knifefiah in the same tank. You didnt mention the footprint of your 150, but knifefish can turn easily within their own body radious. Once he has reached 3/4 of your tanks width it will be time to start planning an upgrade as they are very active at night and constantly swim around the tank. Omce they hit around 12" or so, their growth seems to slow down a bit. I upgraded my 18" rck to abigher tank when he was 3" shorter than the width of the tank, but at the time I was short on spare cash with just having my first child and couldnt find a good used tank and was forced to buy another new one.

My clown knife died he was about 4-5 inches I came home the same day my friend was gonna buy him because he was getting picked on came home to see him on the gravel no eyes fins were torn to the max and part of his jaw eaten I have a JD pb and a firemouth in the 20 growout with him so R.I.P. You should totally get a new one. they have more personality than any fish i have ever seen... except MAYBE oscars... thats a close one, but the clowns knife is way more beautiful!
