Hi, im a new member and this would be my first post. If my tap water contained only chlorine and no chloramine would i need aquasafe for my water? Or should i just keep adding aquasafe to get rid of the chlorine?

if you only have chlorine, you can either let the water sit for a day to let the chlorine evaporate or use aquasafe.

Hello; I allow my water to sit in containers for a few days (usually about a week). I have learned to plug the necks of the containers with a foam plug that allows air movement in and out but prevents mosquitoes from hatching in the warm months. I now have enough containers for more than two water changes. I do not use bubblers, just let it sit.
The water is in clean containers and is also emergency drinking water if the need arises.
I have one six gallon potable water container and several gallon jugs. I have found that the plastic jugs that drinking or distilled water comes in do not hold up over time and will begin to leak. I find that plastic vinegar, clorox and auto windshield cleaner ( the kind with only alcohol) bottles are very sturdy. I clean them by rinsing them thoroughly. I will fill one up and let it sit a while several times before using for fish water changes. I pour the water into the washing machine or toilet so as not to waste it.
I have been doing this for at least three decades on tap water. Call or go by your local water company. They should have a copy of a current water quality report you can get and will be able to tell you what they use as treatment.

another thing to consider though is the heavy metals potentially in your water that most De-chlorniators will detoxify. i would be of great help to yourself to know what's exactly in your tap. contacting your water company is a good start. i was able to find the 2011 water report for my area online.
