I have recently moved to the city. I was used to well water, it was so much easier. Now i have ammonia in the tap. I think i have chlromine in the water. I've added the tap conditioner before i put it in the tank. How soon after i add it can i put it in the tank. When i moved i reused alot of the same water i had before and kept the gravel and filters wet. After changing the water with the city tap water I think i killed my bacteria. And i think my water changes are making things worse. So my question is how long does it take to detox chlromine and how do i remove the ammonia that is in the water?

Thanks,
Shawn

The conditioner works immediatly, make sure you have one that removes chloramine, turn off your filter while changing or adding water. Its the chloramine in the water thats showing up on your test as ammonia
