Not too long ago I posted a question asking about aggression level of temporalis and got some mixed answers... Today I got me 2 3 inchers ($20 for both) and I am almost positive they are males. The plan is to bulk thm up and to breed one to my 5" female. They are currently in a 30G grow out with 2 small plypterus and a trio of juvinile latecara curviceps. While they seemed to get along in LFS tank quite nicely, they got into a nasty fight while in the bag. No damage but there was a bit of liplocking and tailslapping. They have ben buy exploring their new home sine I releaed them 2 hours ago but every time thy encounter one another each fish flares up a bit. Then they just go their separate ways...

Do you think they'll get along or will there be trouble? I have a divider handy just in case and they will only be in that 30 for a few weeks or a month at most

i had a pair for about a year that they lasted together then one day the male did not like the female any more and tore her up i brought her back ywice and tried to reintroduce her but he wasn't having it so i gat rid of her i still have the male he's about 10"

Hmmm... So they are not just aggressive to conspecifics but also quite unpredictable as well...

So far two little guys are ok together. One seems to have established a dominant role and as long as the other gets out of his way, he does not give chase. In either case I am ready to separate them as soon as necessary. My only concern is that I wanted to introduce them both to a femle so that she can pic the one she likes. But now I dont dont know if I should take chances. Perhaps it would be better to introduce them one at a time?
