Any ideas on some medium sized fish that school for my chocolate cichlid tank? Have a 90 gallon that is home to my 6 inch male Chocolate and a 4 inch green Severum. Want to add some activity to the tank. I know that Chocolates are pigs and don't want to ad a school that will disappear overnight. Severum was in another tank with smaller fish no problems at all. Any ideas on a peaceful group would be appreciated!

i have a 90 also with chocolates,i decided that a school might make the tank look crowded, when the cichlids put on some size.maybe you could try 3 silver dollars.

I get the feeling that this might be unusual behaviour; but i have a Honduran Red point (Archocentrus) that schools well with my chocolate C.

Just a thought

I was thinking some sort of barbs or larger tetras. Just looking for opinions from people and what they've had success with.

Rainbowfish work well to add activity to a tank. They aren't necessarily "schooling" fish, but they will be fast enough to not become a snack. I've found that the smaller barbs will end up being snacks over time. A larger barb (filamentosas are one of my favorites) might work well.
