Would a 5" Chocolate Cichlid do okay in a 150g with some more aggressive fish like a Silver Dat and a Pike Cichlid (creni johanna)? There's also a pretty big Jade Goby in there.

I don't want the chocolate to get beaten on, but I feel like the tank has room and its set up perfectly for his preferred enviroment.

Thanks for any advice you can give me

In my main community tank I grew out a bunch of ca/sa cichlids, and when they all started maturing, the Chocolate started hanging in the top corner and darkened up a lot.. They are a very peaceful and docile cichlid, but can be aggressive if they need to be. You can always try it out and see if it works, but I would keep an eye on the pike..

when i had mine he was very out going. always in the front of the tank hovering for food. he was actually the aggressor in my tank, a 125g with 5 juvenile psittacus, a flag tail, datnoid and some bichirs. he was the largest fish in the tank at the time. i ended up trading him for a male rotkeil

I don't believe the silver dat should be too much of a problem, as long as the size difference isn't huge. The crenicichla on the other hand could be a problem if it is much larger than the chocolate. I would try it out, but only with many hiding spaces, and you being around to watch them when you first introduce them. You could also try the territory change method. Move all the decor around, then place the chocolate cichlid in the tank, while all the fish are regaining all their territories. BTW, is there any other fish in the tank besides the crenicichla and silver dat?
