Not very familiar with this cichlid. I am wondering if he would work in a 180 gallon tank with a jack dempsey, green terror-gold saum and 2 oscars. Had to remove a severum, due to the fact he was getting beat up. I don't know if the chocolate has the same temperment as the severum and would also get beat up. Thanks for any advise.

they are similar in temperament to severums. mine seems to be a bit more aggressive than my sevs are. im not sure how they would do with the other cichlids you listed b/c i've never kept them. alot of people say they are like oscars. if you get them at about the same size as the others, id say it would be ok
the chocolate should be fine i kept one with a ebjd a regular jack dempsey a convict and a couple more america cichlids in a 100 gal tank. your tank is bigger so i would say go for it. good luck
i have a 3inch chocolate in with 5 oscars ranging from 3inches to 11+inches a polleni/golden saum/all seems to be going great choc seems to be a little hard nut and stands his ground......my tanks 5ft/2ft/2ft
If a severum was getting beat up the Chocolate will most likely get the same thing. Every fish is a little different, but the average chocolate will not be able to hold it's ground long term with your current fish.
