My Chocolate's have been acting like lovebirds for two weeks now in the 240gl so I put them in their own tank. Three days later they are laying eggs (or at least trying to) on the slate. The female isn't pushing the eggs down so they are rolling off the rock into the gravel. I think I'll just wait till they are done and siphon them all up. But needless to say, I'm happy about it!
I love Chocolate Ciclids. They are such a great looking fish, especially in breeding colors. Hopefully the male knows what he's doing and is getting the eggs all fertilized.1544583956885-1905246758.jpg 1544584009542680979377.jpg 15445840563111112284174.jpg

Congrats! Gonna sell the fry if viable?

Unfortunately almost all of the eggs got fungus while I was out of town. gs I left in the tank.I am trying to keep a few tiny, tiny babies alive. The parents ate all the eg

I was able to get 15 or so eggs into a HOB box so maybe I will get some babies yet!

Did you add a air stone near the eggs? This will do two things.
1 provide oxygen
2 keep eggs from fungus
Naturally the female or both will fan the eggs.
