A hassle freetank!! They hate any kind of stress, or mine do anyway. They're a big fish when adult so plenty of room. Mine are good with Geo's, Dollars ETC.These were my old ones , sadly lost!! I've another batch of 5-6" at the moment. NEV'
I've kept them with angels. The only issue was when he got to be the angels size he started bullying them at feeding time. Other then that they really get along with most anything in a larger tank.

I would not keep them with real high-aggression CA's, and I also wouldn't keep them with similar looking cichlids that stress easily. By that I mean if you tried to keep one with, say, a pair of keyholes, I think the chocolate's tendency to be pushy would stress out the keyholes and end with them not eating. I kept mine with sevs and uaru, it was a nice group.
pretty peaceful from my experience, compatible with most of the more peaceful cichlids, and in general anything that isn't too aggressive
