hello everyone.

Three of my 4" chocolates turning into a strange behaviour in the last days.

One of them seems to harass the other one, then this shakes head and tail.

The same with the other chocolate.

Is it possible this is the male courting two females?

Fast shaking in a 'fit like' manner will be courting, showing readiness to breed.

Slow but solid shaking of the tail may be courting, but it's usually a sign of aggression, "back off" I guess you could say. Personally I love it when my Cichlids do this, though its quite rare. Looks very tough. :)

they shake the heads too.
it seems like a ring: the "male" follows the "female" tail, and "female" follows the "male" tail.
at the same time "female" shakes her tail and head.

the real problem is the male is courting two different fishes.

Definitely sounds like courting then, not totally experienced with how the male is doing it with two females, but at an educated guess I would say he's deciding between the two.

OMG I guessed until yesterday they were all males!!

so they have reached the sexual maturity to breed, am I right?

Love the Chocolate Cichlids can't find them in Tn.
