I know you said lure, but I would stick with the good ole nightcrawler.

Simple - a white bucktail. It works wonders in fresh and saltwater. Just allow me to have several sizes and I'll always catch.

One lure isn't realistic though. To me, the best lures of all time: bucktails, diamond jig, mepps style spinner, & the rubber jellyworm.

Then you have fly fishing - whole new ball game there.....
