I ordered some christmas moss today and I have a few questions:
Will it survive if pulled apart of will the "cuttings" from trimming the moss survive.
Also does it need to be tied down or can it just be placed into crevices?

Christmas moss will be fine in crevices. I'm not sure what exactly your other half of the question is. If I understand it properly, yes, larger clipping will survive.

I wanted to grow it in two tanks so I was wondering if I could just pull the original moss appart and place it in both tanks.

yeah you can. In most tank conditions, mosses aren't the fastest growers though. You might not see it look like anything impressive for a while.
