Anyone here keep these guys or are knowledgeable on them? I have my group in my CO2 planted tank, which I would love to get them out of that tank and in with my L14 grow outs. I know they are omnivores but would they do OK on the higher protein diet of my L14s? I don't want to risk bloat or other health issues. Thanks

As an Omnivore, the higher protein diet should not present a problem. I would still feed an algae wafer a few times a week as I believe all omnivores do better with some form of plant matter in their diets. I understand they also like to gnaw on softer woods. Whether that's essential to their health or not I'm not sure. I've never kept this species but I figured any answer was better than no answer.

I had one a few years ago but it died a few months later. It was happy in a community tank with a few other plecos. Never saw any aggression to it or from it. Sorry i cant help you more.
