Chuco intermedium is a semi aggressive, riverine cichlid that prefers a fairly high flow.
I believe a high flow tempers aggression, in the 150 I used an 1800gph Mag Dr in the sump.
They will start breeding at a relatively small size, 5" for males, 3" for females, they will reach 10"-12" or larger for males, slightly smaller for females.
Mine preferred a diet heavy in vegetable foods, and loved romaine lettuce, they were housed with other Central and South American, and Malagasy cichlids in the 150 gal, where they started breeding.
When I tried to house them in a smaller tank the male became hyper dominant, would ram the female when she got in the way, and finally killed her.
