Who's had success breeding these beautiful fish? I have been raising a group of 6 from Rapps. All are doing wonderful.

I believe they've only been bred once or twice in the US. Going to be hard to find people with breeding success.

I wasnt sure how prolific of breeders Chuco Microprhalmus was. I haven't found much on them. Thank you

Glad to hear you're enjoying them.
I've bred them several times over the years. They tend to mature around 5-7" in length and are easier to work with at that size. When they are 10"+/- long, their sheer size and relative power/speed can make them challenging to adequately provide room for spawning pairs and tank mates.
They are not the most fecund of species. In fact, early spawns of only 50-100 relatively large eggs are a common clutch size for a young pair.

You can curb some adult aggression by providing as much directional movement to the water as possible via supplemental power heads. The tendency to orientate and move with the water current will often curb fishes' extra attention/energy away from each other, thus resulting in a more harmonious and natural riverine biotope.
When collecting the parents of the latest micros I am distributing from the Rio Copan, it was difficult to stand in the fast flowing water from which we netted out the fry.
Hope that helps some.

Absolutely beautiful and thank you! Im enjoying them tremendously and also the P. Mots that i also bought from you. I love the quality of fish that I've purchased from you. Thanks again.

I purchased a few of these from Jeff a few months ago and they're doing well. My largest is currently 3-3.5". As modest said there hasn't been many folks that have bred micros here.

Great info Jeff.

Yep! They love the current. I had 4 of these I raised to about 10" but unfortunatley they were all female. Dan from Cichlids of the Americas has had success with one of my females and a male he has. Not an easy fish to spawn from what I've been told. Mine used to pair up and act like they were going to spawn but as I said earlier I had 4 females. BOO! haha.

Great info and thanks. I have 6 that are doing wonderful at the moment. I would like to breed them but if not its still cool with me.
