My female sev got caught under some decortaion in my tank (god knows how), but how long she was there for I have know idea. Anyway while she was there my JD took a fancy to nibbling her on the forehead and now she has like a white fleshy tissue visible and round were she was bitten the top layer looks like peeling sunburn skin!! In herself she is fine, but should I be adding some salt just to keep the wound clean or some other type of meds to prevent infection.

Salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons and melafix should help, keep an eye on it for funcus and bacterial infections and be ready to treat.

Oh and 1 more thing can I use rock salt (not like table salt stuff) checked the pack and it does'nt have any ingredients on it so hope it has not got the clogging agents in it.

Most rock salt is okay as long as it does not list any other ingredients
