Just noticed today that my largest silver has a chunk out of his feathers torwards the end of his tail, i assume one of the smaller silvers done this.
Not too bothered about it unless they start going mental with each other.
Just wondering if they grow back or are they gone for good?

My description is prob very poor but its the only way I can describe it.
Silvers as you all know have "feathers" running all down their back and belly right to the end. So a chunk has been taking out towards the tell....

oh yeah the tail fin will heal

Should be fin. My Jar ripped the **** out of my silver and left him with no fins at all. Slowly but surely they are growing back. If the fins are torn between the little fin rays, that heals up real quick.

I have had this happen with all my arowanas at some point. Once it was caused by an overly strong powerhead tearing the fin when the fish turned. It took literally a day to heal once i found the cause of the problem
