cichid salts??

im setting up my 55gal as a mixed african tank.

Does anyone use the cichlid salts that are avilale in LS. The container say it relicate the water conditions o the natural habitate.

Cichlid salts are not really necessary and are expensive. Baking soda and aquarium or kosher salt is a lot cheaper. Epsom salt can also be added.

i agree with joe and unless your buying wild fish then i woudlnt even worry about it.

to add to what dylz said, even if you are getting wild fish it might not be needed depending on your tap water parameters
