What would be the ideal kelvin rating to bring out the best color in cichla? I use hagen powerglo 18,000k for my Tanganyikan cichlids, but not sure that is the best choice for the yellow is green color of a pbass.

i would say a wide spectrum.. prob a 6500k and a 18k if you can fit in other bulbs, before spectrum and between spectrums.. i have a tek t5 setup on my tank

also, if you can get the tank close to a window, the sun light for like 30mins a day, they look AAAAAAAAMAZING!!!!!

I use a combo of PennPlax Aquarilux and Hagen Power Glow bulbs. I have no idea what the kelvin rating is but this seems to really enhance the colors of my fish.

:iagree: with this.. my tank gets some sunlight during the day and its done great for the colours.. i also have 2 5ft T5 lights.. dont know the rating.. keep forgetting to check when i do water changes lol.. but ill post up once i do.

I use the 50/50 actinic bulbs. Half actinic blue and half natural daylight. 6000k. My fish seem to respond well to it
