Hi,for one week i can't stop thinking about adding a nice 10 cm peacock bass to my tank.but my tank isn't big, only 500-550 liter.can i house a peacock bass for a long term with the size of my tank?(1,6 x 70 cm x 60 cm)?

kelberi are among the smallest. Orinos will stay the smallest longest as they grow at a slower rate. Are you going to have any tank mates? a 5-550 (about 135 gal) is a little smaller than I'd go. A tank around 700l is the smallest I'd consider for a pair of kelberi or the like.

jacunaba : i want to keep one cichla.but i think the shopkeeper said it's a ocellaris.i kinda doubt to add fish with such big size.all i have i my tank now is 28 cm fire eel,15 cm frontosa, and same size senegal bichir and chalceus.i'm pretty sure my tank is too small for ocellaris, isn't it?
heatherbeast :well,i want to ask first, because i never have experience with cichla and i'm still 15 so i think it's best to ask you guys first..

You would need a larger tank for an adult peacock bass, even the smallest species. I'd say a 700 liter tank would be the best for all of the fish. That fire eel will get up to a meter long! What's your filtration like, btw? :) Peacock bass are very messy since they like lots of protein in their diet.

heatherbeast :not sure ,but it's only a small filter..i think it isn't enough though
houndini89 : thanks..
