But I have him on freeze dried krill and shrimp any other suggestions on food .what's the best thing to feed this little guy, plp say feeders but if he's eating shrimp right off the bat, y not feed him that now. You will have to play around with diet to see what he takes, but shrimp and tilapia would be a good start. Maybe you could get him on some pellets that would be the ideal way to go. You never really want to feed a fish just one thing that will cause it to be malnourished. And from what I can see you have african cichlids in the same tank. I would watch out for bullying.

And you can't beat $5 of a cichla haha

ya I do have him in my moms african cichlid tank. They are about the same size and i havent seen eny bullying. YET. hah. But he has taken hikari food sticks, krill, shrimp.bloobworms, was feeding on brine shrimp at the lfs, and has ate a couple small ghost shrimp. I just want him to hav the best color he possibly can but wont hert him one bit. And gain do you know what kind of cichla he is. I was thinking mono cant really tell. Thanks again

Joey

and jaws,

He's reeeeeeally little! My guess is either mono or ocell, they are the most common in the trade state-side.

It's VERY impressive that he is already on non-live food so young. I would leave out the bloodworms, they are like fish fast food. Good for stressed creatures because it means they eat SOMETHING, but it's not nutritious enough to be worthwhile in the long run. The carotenoids from the krill and shrimp are generally accepted in animalkeeping as a good source of red coloration. As far as I can tell, the best staple diets for Cichla are Massivore and New Life Spectrum, but watch out, they are smelly! You may also want to swing by the Cichla subforum in the Cichlids area. :)

Ya um Supriserd he even went after the shrimp. I hav a 65 with my other pbass but they soon will go in my 180. He Soo go in the 65 and my moms cichlids will go in here 75g
