Hi!

Got myself three Cichla Kelrinos about a month ago, and i'm still having issues with their feeding.
Since i got them i have gone from feeder fish to earthworms, and they do eat the earthworms, but
they eat so damn slow, picking out the juicy bits from the chopped up worm.

I'm wondering if anyone here does have some good advice on how to get them more aggressive during feeding?
I have tried the "smacking the feeders as they hit the water and then moving onto other foods" tactic, but they
just wont hit other foods than feeder fish and earthworms.. And i HATE chopping up those worms as
they smell horrible :(

My english isn't that good, i know.

If they are eating chopped worms already, I would do black worms and or blood worms. It will take some time before they will start feeding like you want. A very of food comes in handy in times like this. As long as they are eating its a good thing. But once you get your bass eating blood worms and/or black worms, you can start soaking shrimp and pellets in the juices of the blood worms.

Any pictures of the "kelrino"?

This is from third day in their small quarantine tank

Not the best picture quality, but i hope you can find a fish on the pictures :)

I really hope they turn out to be Kelrino's...Orino look with the Kel spangles. That would be a sight to see. But yeah, try black or blood worms.

I will try that yes. Hoping to get them on pellets asap. The fish came in as Kelrino from the same supplier as stones get them from, so I assume they are what they were said to be. But i guess i have to wait and see what they turn out like. :)

Yeah, Keep this thread updated with pictures and progression. I personally like to see how they turn out.
