picking up a pair of these later. I'm really excited as my last two attempts over the last few years have not gone well. I've never done monos before and was looking for a few things:

1) What is their growth rate like?
2) How aggressive are they compared to other pbass and cichlids? Like are they more predatory or territorial or both?
3) General storys or whatever is interesting that isn't part of basic care.

Where are you getting them from? You're in Columbus right? I've never had monos but I'd say they have an average growth rate for pbass, not super fast but not slow. Prob about 12-13" the first year then they will slow down

1) What is their growth rate like?
From birth to 1 year you can expect around 10in of growth in Monoculus, ± depending on living conditions and food.

Cichla are predatory Cichlids that are territorial, some species can be more aggressive than others, while the general consensus is anything that can fit into their mouths will.
3) General storys or whatever is interesting that isn't part of basic care.
I think it's interesting there are two main seperation of Cichla, the elongated and the not so elongated, in example Cichla Temensis vs. Cichla Monoculus.
