I moved the cichla army to a bigger tank. They were flopping and splashing every in the bin. One jumped out of the container twice. The move was successful except I lost one fish. I think he ate too much and the stress of being on the floor got the best out of him or her.

Not helping me Anxiety for when I move mine lol. Sorry for your loss bro glad the others made it well!

Why no feed before moving? just curious. I would think it would be good because the chance of them eating right away in a new tank are slim right?

X3, I dont before moving, but I feed daily even on wc day. did the new tank have the same water parameters as the old tank? Most worried about pH shock
the new tank was running for several months. Same temp but never check pH since dither fish in the new tank are healthy. I did noticed this guy is always gasping for air when I do a 50% wc in the growout. Maybe he was weak to begin with and the stress knocked him out. :-(

Its because he was too fat and needed help from Jenny Craig.
