Are Cichla major diggers and plant rippers like most cichlids?

I have a 500 gal planted tank and would love to have some Cichla, but they gotta respect the plants or they'z out.

mine are not as bad as some others like oscars etc but if its planted and you have the tank all plants and stuff i wouldnt risk it,
I am not completely sure on this wait for some other replys

Not as bad as other cichlids.. i hardly see my cichla dig into the substrate..

Man I can't believe you wasted a 500g tank on plants and no monsters in sight!!!!
It must be a nice tank though....can you post some pics??

yep...post pictures. R1 has a nice/GREAT planted tank. But as for Me, my bass can care less about plants, so they leave them alone.

I have seen some 300+ gal tanks devoted to Neon tetra and plants.....that's there thing.

Well, I do have a huge Clown Knife and Royal Knife and a Siver Aro, and a Lungfish and a turtle, but they're not too bad on the plants. I've seen some cichlids make a mess, but if the PBass are not real diggers that would probably work then. I'm psyched. What do you recommend as the coolest PBass?
