Hey all! I'm starting to plan my 'Big tank' and have a few q's for the experts -
1) Would a 300 gal tank be large enough to properly house 3 Kelberi's for life?
2) What can I expect to pay for a juvenile Kelberi?
3) Any rec's for a supplier for said Kelberi's?
I live in West Chester, PA if that helps with suppliers.
Thanks all! Any input you have to better inform me is appreciated. I don't want to jump in without knowing what I'm getting into.

It all depends on what kind of fish you like. If it was me, I would cover the three sections of the tank, top, mid and bottom. Cichlid pikes, plecos, rays, catfishes and so on will cover the bottom. Silver dollars, flag tails, tin foil barbs, dats, mid size cichlids and such will cover the mid and top duties and a nice lei arow will cover the top. This will also depend on if all of them get along as well. I have had success in keeping this mix for a while.

As for your original question, a 300gal will last a while. (depending on your other tank mates). Average cost of a kelberi, depends on what kind you want. A Bahia could range from $100-$250. Wild Kels (depending on the "spangles", could range from $150-$300. And the best place and the cheapest I know of is in the buy and sell section on here. I have gotten a grip load of deals on here. Jeff rapps (tangled up in cichlids) has had some really nice Kels.

Thanks for the info!! So now another noob question! LOL I noticed in almost every Cichla thread, at least one response is from someone with C.R.E.A.M in their sig... I'm going to assume it's a cichla club of some sort?? Y'all seem to have beautiful Pbass that's for sure!

C.r.e.a.m means Cichla Rules Everything Around Me. It's not really a club, it's more of a sign of passion towards cichla. It's more like, I would give up a flawless black stingray for a group of alright looking monos. Dedication to cichla is what cream means and stand for, plus helping out fellow cichla enthusiest.
