Cichla SP. "Angusilla" Growout!

I bought these fries without knowing what species they are, the only thing I know is that they are caught from a stream call "Rio Angusilla" in Peru. According to the importer, there are only Occels, Pleizona and Mono in that stream. They are currently all on pellets and I hope to see what they develop into. They came to me without the spangles and at 2 inches. Now they are close to 4inches, taking their time at growing...

Not sure but it may be pleiozona, if they stay a nice greenish yellow and maintain the fourth bar, they may be pleiozona or a cross breed if they do that. Good catch bro!

here's a link of my pleiozonas in the lfs when i got them november of last year. they were 4.5 inches when i got them and exhibited spangles as well, some had more than the others. hope it helps

Agreed with hulon. They look like French guiana ocells. And, I don't think ocells are in Peru.

Thanks all for the comments, will try to do a weekly update on their growth and development. Will feeding a pure pellet diet slow their growth? Currently they are on hikari lionhead sicking pellets.
