i have a 120 gallon tank with 5 young adult cichla o's. i bought 2 baby temensis' three months ago about 4 inches in length each, after growing two inches i discovered one of them was missing a left pactoral fin . It also has a wounded gill cover on the missing fin side, which is still red and unhealed after two months. i do not know the cause of the wound but it may be because my tem was bullied by his other big cichla tankmates or it may be infected. besides the red mark on the gill my tem is really healthy looking. My tems are growing very fast, approaching eight inches already, the healthier one slightly longer than the other. Their appettite is really big as juvis, m just wondering if a cichla missing a pectoral fin can live a full and healthy life. what do you guys think?

ayt here are the pics, not to good though coz i only took it with my cellphone cam, not too many specks compared to other posts i see here, why's that so? the fish with the nasty gill wound doesnt have a pectoral fin on that side.. im scared the gill cover might be infected.. suggested treatment anyone? something you can easily buy pls...

Tems look purdy damn good....Your tems have some nice color's to them..Im looking for tem's that have tons of specks on them..i hear its were there from etc...Where did ya get yours from???

Nice tems :)

Adding some salt wouldn't hurt.

keep the water clean and add some salt to avoid infection.. if he gets his share of food he'll probably make it thru even without the pectoral fin, hope it grows back though ;)
