Cichla temensis with spotted gar?

Is it Possible? i am getting a pair of Cichla temensis soon but dont have a spare tank to put them..is it okay for them to be together?

Yea that is a little small for Cichla if the Gar is 8'' and the Peacocks are 5". Just a little bit more accurate measurements would help.

i have my 5" tem with a 12" and 7" spotted gar and they do just fine but i think anything smaller and the pbass would be lunch for a 12" gar, i also agree with the other members be more specific how big is the gar and the pbass

Hmm the peacock shld be 6" and the gar shld be 7" i aint afraid that the pbass will be eaten or not..instead i am afraid that my pbass will eat the gar when it overgrows the gar and it will bite it even if it dont want to eat it.

small gars grow fast, too, so you might be okay, at least for a few months

depending ons size this mix should work fine, seen it done many times.. id definately get the gar at least a couple of inches bigger than the pbass as the pbass will quickly outgrow your gar..
