I have never seen this question on the site but has anyone every had their cichla mounted?? My very first pbass was 4 years ago (my avatar). He was a 13 dollar ocell that I raised from 2 inches. He unfortunately died a few weeks ago from undetermined causes. He lived through many diseases and problems which made me very surprised he made it this far. I know it seems impossible, but he seriously did not eat for 5 solid months. I controlled the feeding everyday and he wanted nothing, even live. He was a beautiful fish that grew to almost 20 inches. Being an avid outdoorsman, I am considering taking him to the taxidermist. I called my taxidermist and they said they have experience with peacock bass and feel they could do a great job. Figured it would look pretty awesome on the wall next to my tanks in the future. Thoughts??

That's a great idea if you can get it done. I've thought about it myself. I hate to throw away a fish I've had for many years.

There is an old thread on the subject of members having their fish mounted but I don't remember if any cichla were mentioned though.

If I were to do the mount, I would like to do a skin mount. Wouldn't look the same to me if a replica was used. I will update the thread if I do end up going through with it. Thanks for the encouragement! haha

If you got the money I say go for it, That would be awesome!
