Hi guys just wanted to update you on my peacock bass. I've had them 7-8 months and have found their growth rates to be very irregular. I bought 2 tems and one orino at just under 4" and 3 ocells at 2". Their current sizes temensis 8-9", orino 5-6", 2 ocells are 6-7" and one is 4-5". Why is it that some of them have only grown about 2" and others have grown 4-5"?

I have now separated the two smaller ones so I can feed them better. The bigger ones are colouring up really nicely. Here's a video of the guys.

nice tim.. good song, is that scary kids scaring kids? sounds like them... they are getting big and the monos are getting some nice yellow.. where are the orinos???
 
looking good tim....i miss having sliver dollars as dithers...but i didn't need them anymore

The song is by saosin. You say they are monos? I was under the impression they were ocellaris. They are starting to look like monos but they also have spots like an orino in the centre of their bars with gold dots around them. Could they be a hybrid of mono and orino? I do have one orino that was also bought as ocellaris. He is in another tank with with another ocellaris. I'll try to get some good pics.
 
well i mean they maybe occelaris... you can really see them the greatest, take a close up pic and post it here..... where the orinos?...

Does anyone know what colour this orino is likely to be when it's big?
Also can anyone shed any light on the varied growth rates. My orino has only grown like 2" in 7 months, do females grow a lot slower?
