Hello everyone.

I currently have six Cichla Kelberi and intermedia that are about 16-18” long. I wanted to know if they could swallow and try to eat a 8” L24 pleco. Given how spiny and rough they are, I’m wondering if they’ll be safe. I know”regular” plecos would be lunch but given how spiny Pseudacanthicus are...especially L24’s, I’m hoping I’m safe.

Please advise if you have any experience. Thank you.

You would think they would be smart enough to not..... but they are still "young," so they might try. Just depends how much you dropped on the L24s..... is it worth it?

get them tonight so I will eye ball them. They aren’t cheap. If I have to grow them on in my other tank than I guess I won’t have a choice. Just wondering if the Cichla are dumb enough to eat a cactus pleco.
