Spotted some of these at Discus Origins and can't find much info on them at all. I was either going Ornatum or Beani for my next project but this is a really cool fish and I've heard good things about Discus Origins.

Beani would be from COA Ornatum from TUIC.

Any experiences with this fish?

Pretty rare and very nice. Thought to be closely related to Festae and Ornatum. Have seen some SA biotypes with all 3 as the featured attraction. Rapps had some nice ones not too long ago. How much are they going for at DO?

They all are very good cichlids, I am crazy about all 3 mentioned :). Very nice colors, not shy, however, beani would have to be with male and female or in a tank by himself or in a tank with a smaller cichlid that he can control, to keep from being stressed/bloat. Tank should be large enough for beani to have plenty of room... Clean water... You have to not over feed him/her. Beani is very aggressive will kill...

go for the Ornatum, I also was thinking of getting these from Rapps, But Wasn't sure if they were a fussy fish like Beani and Istlanum?

Thanks guys. DO had them for $50 and I think Im going to add them at some point, but I went with the ornatum for now. I ve been checking out Mel's tanks with Festae and ornatum and he had some atros in the next tank.

I think a display with all 3 would be pretty stunning.
