This young pair of Cichlasoma dimerus are guarding a large spawn of newly hatched fry. They're quickly becoming one of my 'favorites'.

Thanks Jon. They are super parents. If you saw the tankmates in with them, you'd be amazed at just how good they are at defending. I would estimate that in the two years I've had them, that they have bred over a dozen times. I presently have a couple of young males coming up (offspring of these) that are the most incredible 'bottle green' color. They just shimmer in the light ... very attractive.
