I just recently purchased a couple of Cichlasoma dimerus. I am having trouble finding any real info on them. From what I've read they require a cool down. They are in qt right now. Basic questions how big, sex them,aggression level etc. Thanks

I kept them, and had the Uruguayan variant, so I kept them without a heater at room temp.
Tried them in my pond in Milwaukee (average day water temps 70, night 55F) where they spawned.

Sorry for the delay in response. I ended up with just the one female, male was killed by the female for fry eating. She is not aggressive at all. I am getting ten juveniles to raise in hopes of finding more pairs and a future partner for the lone female.
I started with about a dozen 1" juvies
in two months they had doubled in size
in 5 months they were mature adults ready to spawn themselves
