They are not exactly the same because foods will be slightly different in protein for example for certain species.
Hi- I have golden giant gourami- I don’t know it is tropical fish or cichlid fish? So which the best I have to use feeding him - tropical food or cichlid food? ThanksAlso like to add even certain African Cichlid specie have different ingredients because of how their intestines are designed. Some foods will have more plant or algae for specific species such as herbivore or omnivores fish.

With a lot of formulas, it mostly boils down to marketing. Tropical formulas are typically targeted towards those with mixed tropical communities, cichlid formulas are typically purchased by cichlid owners. Manufacturers tend to market their products for different people, more than different species of fish.Hi everyone, can someone explain what different between cichlid food and tropical food ?
