same as title...

I saw someone the other day in petsmart who said they bred cichlids and they walked away too fast for me to talk to.

They also said their friend bred a couple different types of peacock bass so I figured he'd probably be on a forum somewhere.

I just want to know if there are any cichlid breeders nearby as well.

theres a few of us from the area. wasnt me, what are you breeding? im workin with hypesclara temporalis, and have a spare tank waiting on something special. it should be rare, a challenge to breed, or just out of the ordinary any suggestions.

The only things I have bred with success are bolivian rams, convicts (had to start somewhere), and red devils. I really want to do sajicas and honduran redpoints.

I am not too much into breeding though, I just was going to get a huge tank soon and wanted to stock it with some nice cichlids. I was wondering what ones anyone had around here. Just before i go to Malawi aquatics or Beldts aquarium.

oh btw those temporalis are nice fish! I forgot you said what you were breeding. I like those, I never see them. Do they have a temperment similar to severums? They look like they would just by their pictures.

you in saint louis or edwardsville? is it the same edwardsville by the speedway?

the speedway, like the NHRA drag races and stuff? Its nearby.

Edwardsville is like right across the chain of rocks bridge from florissant/st. louis.

nah. wrong edwardsville. other side of mO.
there's an edwardsville by the Kansas Speedway

mr firemouth are you the same guy who was looking for impellers at petsmart in edwardsville who works for that guy on wetweb?

if not sorry, but yes I am familiar with MASI, I just never get time to go to the meetings. I talk to a couple people who do though. Maybe you are familiar with dwayne peters? He breeds angelfish and he is always going to those things.

I don't think the person I talked to belonged to the MASI but I can't remember.

thanks

the temporalis temperment is severum like. not real aggressive. mine are only about 5-6 in. i am told at adult size they are very similar to an oscar i guess we will see.
