cichlid breeding

hey i am going to set up a 40 gallon breeder and i was wondering what are some good cichlids that breed alot? should i split the tank in half and put 1 pair of cichlid in each half or should i just put 1 pair in the whole 40 gallon???? is there any cichlid that breeds like once a month or more????
