Would a;

texas
JD
festae
greenterror
salvini
red-head cichlid

be able to live together with regards to agression?
would most of them get tehir ass's kicked by the festae/GT?

if so what size tank would be needed?
i know it'll have to be HUGE but what do people reckon?

Thanks
Matt

taken into account each fishs individual temperment. i would say at full size the texas would own the tank since it will get the biggest. i would think atleast 250 gallons. but i think it would work. you would prolly have to overstock the tank a bit to reduce aggression though

excellent. so overstock slightly

what about decor, would that have to be

minimal; less decor=less places to claim territory=less agression

or

Maximum; more decor=everyone has their own place=happy fish

thanks
Matt

My green terror and JD get along fine with minimal decor however i havnt kept any other fish on your list sorry...

excellent i see thanks guys :)

i dont know if any of you had seen my other thread on gentle giants but i have a spare 90 available

would any of the fish i suggested be able to go in there together?

i would love a CA community in there, any ideas welcome

Thanks
Matt

Yes all the fish you listed could be put in there incase of agrresion isues maybe keep the 90 as a spare tank for the cichlid or cichlids that cause trouble in your community.

Well the texas might get big faster thenthe others but the festae will big the biggest and meanest you have. I would say if there was an issue that would be your trouble maker in the end. they are hyper aggro when larger. Although some can be laid back, most are not. But your texas will be the aggressor for the short term though. so just watch those two the closest with the sal being next in line for aggression.

Just my thoughts. what size tank are you looking at for all of them, 240gal. or so?

cool so the answer is im pretty much going to have to go for it and then see what happens?

erm 240 is looking probable but im not sure as of yet, still kinda a long term plan, just gauging ideas and stuff really!

looking in the short term, what is the minimum tank size for a festae, cant seem to find a difinative answer!

Thanks
Matt

if the festae is a male it will be larger then any of the above mentioned and most likely the meanest.
