was wondering if the following list is compatible fish; 4-5 blood parrots, 4-6 convicts (some pink), 2 severums (green and gold), albino tiger oscar, electric blue jack dempsey, 4-5 silver dollars, pictus cat and a pleco of some sort, if so how big a tank would you recommend?

your assortment sounds fine for the most part, my recomedations would be to look for a tank in the upward of 150-180 gallons and possibly less convicts. if convicts pair off and breed they can take up space and be territorial and aggressive towards other fish.

dont get convicts, as stated above they will pair off and wreak havoc
prolly a 180 g

thats really a mix!
why not try to find other combination?

Why is this a bad combination? The only problem would be the convicts as stated. The only way I would do the cons is if you get same sex across the board. Something like a 135 would be slightly crowded if you added ANY deco, which you hopefully should. A 180 as already said would be a perfect long term tank for this combination. If you wanted to substitute the cons, good replacemants would be firemouth, port acara, festivum, (the latter will depend on availability) as well as many others that stay in that size range. You could even get something a little bigger than that if you go with a 180. Also, if you do the pictus, I'd do a small group of 3-5, as they are a schooling cat that are FAR more interesting when kept this way.

it's not just so bad. but if we look for it's individual characteristics, it really differ in some aspects like foods, temperament, etc. and better consider it.

firemouth + acara + festivum is a better combination.

it's just my opinion.

The EBJD can get destroyed by the BP and Convicts when they are young. The BPs and Convicts can also pair off (I think if a BP and convict mate, it is called a jelly bean parrot) and take over parts of a tank.

For the Oscar, it just depends. Most are laid back and would rather have a full belly than pick a fight. You can get a brute that want's to chase and harass other fish though.

I don't know about the severums.

Female convicts are awesome with other fish as long as there's no males it can breed with in the tank. And they're prettier than the males. Male convicts can be irritants and b*******-ish either way.

Good luck with that assortment!
