A friend of mine found fertilized eggs and thinks the parents are a Jack Dempsey and a convict because they’re protecting the eggs. I’m gonna give them a little tank to put the babies in. What’s the best way to do this.

Remove the object the eggs are laid on place a airstone near the eggs to simulate the parents fanning them. The airstone will keep debris off the eggs. If waste, food etc. comes in contact with the fertilized eggs the will develop fungus.

If the friend wants to remove fry after free-swimming I suggest siphoning with a small hose. You want them to removed slowly so the tiny fry doesn't get injured.

I’m not sure what the eggs are on but what if they’re on the glass or something. Then what do I do?

I personally never seen or heard of Convict's laying eggs on the walls of the aquarium. The Convict will normally lay eggs in a ornament or dig a pit on the bottom. Not sure about the Jack Dempsey.
If the eggs were layed on the glass wall or bottom glass of the aquarium I personally would wait until they hatched and remove the wrigglers .

With most eggs are placed on a substrate too big to move, its best to let the parents protect them. Scraping them off will usually kill them.
After 24 to 36 hours, most cichlid eggs hatch into wrigglers , and the parents hide them, and 2 days or so, and the wrigglers feed off their yolk sack.
Then they become free swimmers and must be fed. Small, multiple meals per day in best.
Below some cichlid eggs the parents placed on an object small enough to move, using an air line, to keep flow going
Below...the eggs have developed into wrigglers I keep the air going at this stage, because if the wrigglers get smothered with junk, they die.)
Below they are free swimmers, the yolk sacks have been absorbed, and they must be fed.
I usually hatch artemia, (brine shrimp) to use as first foods. starting a new batch every other day, until the fry start accepting crushed flake.

Got a call that they hatched so I ran over the tank to let them have. Told them to just be very careful out cotton in the filter and don’t put the airstone too high power. Is there anything else.

Just leave them in there. If they are meant to hatch and survive then so be it.
