Finally setting up my long-awaited west african tank. Tank is 60 gallons 30"lx24"wx20"h. Proposed stocking will be

6-8x congo tetras
1x syno either decorus or angelicus
1x delhezi bichir
1x cichlid TBD
1x butterflyfish(maybe)

Been thinking about kribensis or one of the smaller hemichromis for the cichlid in question. Biggest concern is compatibility with the congo tets. Im trying to keep this tank as peaceful as possible. Ive heard kribs can be little terrors.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

The Kribs occupy the bottom mostly and only terror's if they are protecting eggs, fry,or wriggler's. I personally would try it.

What made you scratch the African Butterfly fish?

I dont wanna crowd the tank but i suppose i could try one later. Ime, they are the most finicky with water conditions and diet of all these fish. Im wondering if the tetras would bother it too. At any rate it would be the last step in stocking the tank.
