I'm so excited! I just striped the mother ( yes thats what she said:) ). I don't know what species the mother is nor who the father is. Could some one I.d. the mother, and please tell me how I should feed and take care of the fry. Some pics

Labidochromis caeruleus. The fry can be fed crushed pellets of flakes until they are big enough to take full sized flakes or pellets. Once they're big enough to not be eaten they can go back into the main tank.

Its an electric yellow. I feed my fry by taking flake and crushing it up really fine with my fingers and dropping it in, then they gobble it up lol. Hope they turn out really well. Good luck. Please keep us updated :D

What are your plans for the fry? I am asking because they are most likely hybrids. As a person who has been breeding cichlids for a little while now, I know the feeling of excitement, but if you do not have plans for the fry it is not a good idea to keep them. I would recommend getting a male lab for your female and breeding a pure species.

I don't think they are hybrids because I have a male electric yellow labedochromis; and I presume he must be the father. They might be hybrids though, and I will have an update once I come back from spring break vacation. I am feeding them ground up egg yolk and crushed flakes.
