hi there, just thougth i would share this with you. i have a 4 1/2foot long tank as a growout tank, and in it i have 2 jewel's (4 - 5inch) 2 female dempsey's (5-6inch) blue acara (3inch) a clarias cat(6-7inch), 2 angels (6inch) and a golden tinfoil barb (7-8inch) that was resident at the time. now the tank is established but was empty, now i moved all those cichlids and catfish just listed into the tank todday and the tinfoil barb is chasing the jewels and the catfish but leaves the rest alone,? any ideas? why? its nothing serious, but i just wondered why a dither fish in such a big tank would do such a thing? :feedback: :WTF:

What you have happening is quite rare if what you have are true jewlel's. Most all jewels are very aggresive and have very sharp teeth. I have had them damn near rip the lips off a JD and GT that was almost twice their size. Also for a tinfoil to chase one is just unheard of. I also can't believe your angels are still alive in that tank....GoodLuck.

The same happens when you have a lone tiger barb... They're a lot easier to keep with other fishes when in school. Alone they're SERIOUS fin-nippers and agressive. My 0.02 ;)

Best regards.

Daniel.
