I have like 6 cichlids and they are starting to act a lil wierd. they are going down to the gravel and swimming on there side the they turn back over and then swim fine. what are they doing

2 of the fish are like 6 months old and the others are about 2 weeks old and they just started doing this tonite. the tank has been set up for a month
If your fish are rubbing their sides then most likely your water parameters are off. When the last time you tested your water?
The term is called "Flashing" when they rub there sides on the gravel could be nitrates , ammonia or they just have an itch lol mine do it once in awhile

i just did a water change last week like i said the tank is 1 month old and i also have small white particals floating around in the tank and the water smells fishy and i have extra carbon in the filter
a lot of people do water changes every few days.
do more water changes and this should slow down
and you'll see a lot of growth in your oscar to.

there are no white specs on the fish and i do not have a oscar do u think i need a better filter unit or not
