Cichlid Hybrid. Interesting or not?

I bought 2 male and 2 female Ruby Peacock X OB Peacock fry a few months ago from a local importer. He had some spare time and bred these guys. Has anyone ever bred this cross before? His adult male was gorgeous, metal flake crimson on his front half and electric blue fade on the back. They are still small and not showing color, though one is showing faint signs of a similar color.

I'm pretty new to crosses or cichilds all together, so is this a unique or even interesting cross? The importer made it seem as if it were.

I'm going to do what I can to breed them, but I've only bred cichlids once, and that was an accident...

Once they color up, I'll post some pictures.

I can post some pics of the tank, though they're juveniles so a few haven't colored up, and the one's I was talking about don't have color yet. I'll see if I can get my camera running tomorrow.

Here you go, trying a mix of the typical African environment with some planting. It seems to have worked out better than you would expect with cichlids.

not into africans all that much but must say that is a nice looking setup
