Can anyone tell me what species of Texas this is? I'm guessing cynoguttatus. I love this guy to death!! His name? You guessed it... Big Tex! I've had him since he was a 1 inch fry, and I have done everything within my power to turn him into the stunner he is today! Wouldn't trade him for the world!:D He's the reason why I got into monster fish keeping about 2 years ago ( + the fact that I couldn't keep those damn fancy goldfish healthy with all the ammonia in my tap water). Would also love to see pics of other Texas cichlids. Idc if it's a cyano or carpinte. I love them all!

Herichthys cyanoguttatus.
"cyano"- blue
.....and that is a beautiful blue Texas.

Thank you! It's amazing what good genes and lots of wc's can do.

Nice blue Texas keep up the good work

Thanks! I just bought him a new 150 so he could have a forever home. He definitely deserves it!

He's a great looking brute! How big and how old is he?

Thank you. He's a little over 2, and the last time I measured he was a hair over 8.5 inches.
