Any idea what these are? Both in tank labelledred terror but this place doest always update labels. First one maybe if it is stressed out, can see very faded eye spot. Second I would say no. But interested in what they may be1113161535b.jpg 1113161535.jpg 1113161536.jpg

I would agree they look like some kind of Tilapine.
In the first shot, you can see the tilapia spot in the posterior of the dorsal fin, in the lower left corner of the photo. Since there are hundreds of Tilapine species, and many look similar, trying to guess species would be difficult.
Below are some.

Thanks. That's what i was thinking. THe bottom picture I was pretty sure was tilapine related. the back one was more what I wasn't sure was since it was being chased to the back and did have a slight eyespot on the tail.

I just think the LFS got screwed. They said the wholesaler told them they were wild caught festae, and I've been there enough to be pretty sure he wasn't lying to me. They just have much more experience with saltwater than freshwater.

Definitely one of the ones shown above. $65 for a large size red terror seemed too good to be true. I feel bad since there's no good options in the South Plainfield NJ area now that Shark Aquarium and Pet Shanty are gone, and I know they are really trying at Ocean Gallery to fill the void but they are just much more knowledgeable with the saltwater fish and reptiles. I'm hoping things work out for them because I know the one guy in charge of the fish area is really nice and tries to help where he can (plus I got a nice sized gulper catfish for $30 so that's a bonus).
